Permits & Regulations
Building Regulations
In addition to a Montgomery County building permit, a Village permit is required to erect a building or modify the exterior of a residence. The attached Building Restrictions and Permit Regulations prescribe the contents of a permit application and the process for sharing plans with neighbors and a hearing before the Citizens’ Committee. The attached Tree Protection Plan requires the placement of construction fences around Village trees that may be impacted by construction. The Village of Drummond Application for Building Permit is also attached.
A few practical items:
- Parking is permitted on the north side of the street only.
- Please observe the 25 MPH speed limit as there are many young children and pedestrians on Drummond Avenue.
- The original 1916 Regulations (still in effect) provide that it shall be unlawful “to keep or harbor cows, cattle or goats” or to permit a “fierce or dangerous” dog to be unleashed. “Nice dogs” are welcome, provided that their owners keep them on leashes and pick up their solid wastes. Cats may (and will) do as they please.
